MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP
Intuitive, reliable and easy to use MR injector
Clear Direction. Intuitive and Patient Focused.
The intuitive touch screen interface allows the user to set the injection protocol needed for the MR examination and adjust it to suit the individual patient by selecting the parameter to be changed and entering the new value.
What is MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP?
MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP is a dual syringe power injector delivering contrast agents and saline during contrast-enhanced MRI diagnostic procedures. It can utilize most brands of prefilled contrast syringes (PFS) and is composed of 3 modules: Injector head, battery, and control room unit.
How does MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP work?
The MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP can be programmed to inject contrast media and saline for specific protocols with up to six phases.
The standard MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP configuration utilizes a dual, single use, syringe kit which includes a 65 mL contrast syringe, 115 mL saline syringe, two spikes, and a 96” t-connector tubing. The user programs the contrast volume and flow rate to optimize the MR diagnostic image.
What are the advanced capabilities of MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP?
MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP is compatible with MR scanners from 0.2T to 3T and allows high flow rates. Other advanced features include Keep Vein Open (KVO) and VirtualCare™* remote support.
How is MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP used?
The MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP utilizes disposable syringes for saline and contrast. The fill volume and flow rate for these syringes are fully programmable. For Syringe A the programmable volume range is 0.5 mL up 65 mL and for Syringe B it is 1 mL up to 115 mL. For both syringes the flow rate is programmable from 0.01 to 10 mL/s. Where available, Bayer offers 5 different sizes of adaptors to accommodate the leading brands of prefilled syringes.
The workstation utilizes an intuitive touch screen that allows the user to set the injection protocol needed for the MR scan. With the MEDRAD® Spectris Solaris EP, the user can store up to 32 MR injection protocols for easy access. Injection protocols can be adjusted to suit the individual patient by simply selecting the parameter to be changed and entering in the new value. There are also six factory pre-set values for pressure, from 100 psi to a maximum of 325 psi. The injector only uses the pressure required to complete the protocol and will not exceed the selected setting. Once the injector is armed, the user can select the KVO function, which delivers a small amount of saline at a user selected rate to keep the patient's vein open.
KVO functions independently from the injection profile. A timing bolus may also be utilized to measure the contrast arrival time in the region of interest by injecting small amount of contrast media.
