Intego, making things easier in nuclear medicine
Throughout my career in Medical Sales, I have always understood that there are certain products and equipment which fall into the categories of, “Like to have and Need to have”. I am very fortunate that I have always tried to align myself with companies that offer products which fall into the, “Need to have”, category. To be able to supply needed products which will benefit my customers and their patients, has always been my top priority.
My journey into the world of Nuclear Medicine, is a recent one. That being said, I have very quickly come to appreciate the amazing work that Nuclear Medicine Technologists carry out every day. They manipulate and inject radioactive isotopes into their patients, all the while fully aware of the risks to themselves. This is the reason why I derive a great deal of satisfaction, when our technologists adopt the use of the Bayer, Intego Injector. This means that they will be changing the way they perform their functions and that they will have to adapt to new processes. Changing the way things were always done, is not easy, but with the end results in mind, they do it gladly.
I am always happy to hear back from my customers. To hear that they are happy to be using the Intego Injector, and to listen to all the ways it has aided them and how they feel more protected from the inherent hazards associated with the manipulation of radioactive isotopes. Whether it be the decrease in physical pains which arise from manually filling syringes and manipulating heavy shielding devices, or from the decrease in absorbed radiation doses to themselves.
Yes, I do consider the Intego Injector to be a “Need to have” product, and the reason is simple. We need to supply our technologists with whatever is needed, in order to keep them healthy and safe, while they perform their duties which benefits us all.

"At HMR, the use of the Intego Injector, has simplified the Technologists’ tasks, in addition to reducing radiation exposure during FDG injections.
Presently, our team has noted a reduction in musculoskeletal pain which was related to the task of preparing the FDG doses."
Karine P. Charlebois t.i.m. Interim Head of Nuclear Medicine Integrated University Health and Social Services Center of the East of the Island of Montreal
"The Intego Injector not only allows us to reduce the radiation dose to our patients, thanks to the precision and performance of this machine, it also increases the speed at which we carry out our procedures. This decrease in procedure time has the added advantage of decreasing, in a considerable manner, the radiation doses to the staff. This unit, is a major optimization at the heart of our work and we wish to share with you, our experiences."
